Head Chef

A well-established hotel in Colesberg, is seeking a skilled and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations and elevate our food offering for both hotel guests and local patrons.

Key Responsibilities

· Take full responsibility for kitchen operations, food quality, and consistency

· Design, cost, and execute menus suited to a country hotel environment

· Manage food costs, stock control, procurement, and supplier relationships

· Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring teamwork and efficiency

· Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety (HACCP)

· Plan and execute functions, group meals, and special events

· Have a good working knowledge of Sushi and be able to fulfil the offering in the absence of the Sushi Chef

· Work closely with management to align food offerings with guest expectations and business goals

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a hotel or lodge environment

· Strong knowledge of menu planning, food costing, and kitchen administration

· Ability to manage a small to medium-sized kitchen team

· Passion for quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction

· Experience working in a country or remote setting will be an advantage

· Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
