HVAC Sales Applications Engineer

Location:

Rheem Midwest Distribution Division (Kimberly, WI; Madison, WI; Green Bay, WI; or West Allis, WI). This is an on‑site position.

The position will be responsible for planning, designing, engineering, and estimating HVAC projects while maintaining and growing client relationships.

• List and provide quotations for HVAC equipment processing for estimation of project completion.
• Work independently and with other team members to design heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system layouts for customers working with a variety of building layout formats.
• Read and interpret blueprint and construction drawings to complete system layout.
• Provide design support, code assessment, and plan submittal within local, state, and federal codes and procedures.
• Communicate with customers on projects, plan revisions, and submittals via phone, email, and in‑person while ensuring collaboration and problem‑solving.
• Work closely with customers, partners, and colleagues to achieve deadlines while delivering a quality product.
• Calculate heat gain/loss for residential and commercial applications.
• Provide support to assist HVAC contractors with installation questions or issues, and follow‑up of jobs as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related program preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience as an HVAC applications designer or HVAC product engineer required.
• State Certified HVAC Designer License preferred or willingness to become certified.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprint and construction drawings.
• Experience with Auto CAD or equivalent program.
• Prior HVAC project management or estimating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, building, and mechanical codes.
• Detailed knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, and commercial supplies.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, plus attention to detail.
• Ability to recognize and meet deadlines with each project.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and delegate tasks when necessary.
• Ability to build successful working relationships with customers, contractors, and co‑workers in a professional manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
