Job Description & How to Apply Below
This is a defining opportunity for a senior technology leader ready to own the full IT strategy for a growing, multi-business enterprise. As the top technology executive and a critical first hire in the function, you will shape the roadmap from the ground up, uniting infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications under a single strategic vision. You will have the authority to build and lead the team, modernize legacy practices, and influence both ownership and operating-company leadership on where technology takes the business next.

For a charismatic, transformational leader who thrives on turning a fragmented landscape into a competitive advantage, this role offers genuine ownership today and a clear path toward broader executive technology leadership as the portfolio scales.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own and drive the enterprise technology roadmap across multiple operating businesses.
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current IT landscape, cataloging infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity posture, and team capabilities.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities across a geographically dispersed, multi-site environment.
  • Lead enterprise system implementations spanning ERP, CRM, and cloud platforms.
  • Drive integration and automation across independently operating businesses.
  • Build, restructure, and lead a capable internal IT team with full hiring authority.
  • Manage external vendors and managed-services partnerships, including cybersecurity providers.
  • Own cybersecurity strategy end-to-end, including identity and access management, endpoint and network security, incident response, disaster recovery, and third-party risk governance.
  • Establish governance cadences for project prioritization, architecture standards, and technology investment decisions.
  • Manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, and technology investment portfolios.
  • Champion AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies to advance operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Partner with sales, operations, finance, and engineering leadership to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Influence ownership and operating-company stakeholders to align on technology priorities and investments.
  • Support ongoing acquisition integration as the portfolio grows.
  • Lead the cultural shift from reactive, decentralized practices to a unified, proactive technology function.
Required
  • Ten or more years of progressive IT leadership experience spanning enterprise infrastructure, business applications, cybersecurity, and team leadership, with at least five years in a senior strategic leadership role.
  • Proven track record leading the business technology roadmap across a multi-site operating environment, preferably in industrial distribution, manufacturing, field service, or engineered products, with direct accountability for infrastructure, systems, and security.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise system implementations, including ERP, CRM, and cloud platforms, while managing cross-functional stakeholder partnerships.
  • End-to-end ownership of cybersecurity strategy, including identity and access management, endpoint and network security, incident response, disaster recovery, and third-party risk governance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferred
  • Experience in a highly acquisitive or privately held investment environment with responsibility for IT integration across multiple concurrent acquisitions.
  • Background supporting e-commerce platforms, field service systems, warehouse and distribution systems, and data analytics initiatives in a B2B technical environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in adopting AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies to drive operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Advanced degree, particularly paired with manufacturing-sector experience.
Competencies
  • Strong financial acumen across IT budgets, vendor contracts, and technology investment portfolios.
  • Service-oriented leadership mindset with a bias toward accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Charismatic influencer with high personal energy.
  • Meticulous and analytical in follow-through.
  • Proactive problem solver.
  • Outstanding, persuasive communicator.
  • Comfortable initiating and navigating difficult conversations.
  • Effective multitasker across competing priorities.
