Crane Engineering Sales Inc, a leading industrial fluid handling and process equipment distributor, is seeking a Buyer II to support sourcing and procurement for pumps, valves, filtration, and engineered systems. In this role, you will manage purchase orders, monitor inventory, and coordinate deliveries to meet project and service demands across municipal, industrial, and sanitary markets. You'll analyze supplier performance, negotiate pricing and terms, and collaborate with sales, engineering, service, and warehouse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and purchase materials, components, and equipment for fluid handling and process systems
  • Issue purchase orders and manage order confirmations, delivery dates, and shipping discrepancies
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support wholesale and project demands
  • Analyze supplier performance, pricing, and quality; recommend improvements and cost savings
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors within established guidelines
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, service, and warehouse teams to meet project timelines
  • Resolve supplier issues related to quality, lead time, and documentation
  • Monitor market trends, lead times, and product availability for industrial equipment
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP systems and reports
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes
