About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - ER to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate emergency nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions, injuries, and urgent healthcare needs. The ER RN will perform rapid assessments, prioritize patient care, administer treatments, monitor patient responses, and collaborate with physicians and the emergency healthcare team.

This position is ideal for a skilled emergency nurse who can remain organized and focused in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to changing patient conditions.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical needs
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, neurological condition, oxygenation, and other relevant clinical indicators
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and emergency treatments as ordered
  • Initiate and maintain IV access and perform appropriate nursing procedures
  • Assist physicians and other providers with emergency procedures and treatments
  • Provide care for patients experiencing trauma, respiratory distress, chest pain, stroke symptoms, infections, injuries, and other acute conditions
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to clinical deterioration
  • Participate in resuscitation, rapid response, and emergency stabilization activities
  • Monitor patients during and after treatments and procedures
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, splinting assistance, and other emergency nursing interventions
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses
  • Collect specimens and coordinate diagnostic testing as ordered
  • Communicate critical patient information promptly to physicians and other members of the healthcare team
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
  • Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and referrals as needed
  • Maintain infection prevention and control practices
  • Follow medication safety, patient identification, and emergency department protocols
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, technicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals
  • Support a safe, organized, and efficient Emergency Department environment
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in California
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room or comparable acute care nursing experience
  • Strong knowledge of emergency nursing practices and patient prioritization
  • Experience with IV therapy, medication administration, patient monitoring, and emergency interventions
  • Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a high-acuity environment
  • Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts
  • Required certifications should meet applicable facility requirements
