As the leader of the switch gear project team, this person is in charge of ensuring that the project succeeds for both the client and Colonial, and is the face to the customer post order commitment. This person is responsible for coordinating all actions related to the project including understanding and meeting all timelines. An analogy for this position is ‘conductor of the orchestra’ where the orchestra are the various negotiations and technical personnel who are creating the Bill of Material (BOM), submitting product details for approval, and entering shipping information into the company’s proprietary software Jobtrack.
The PC must respond to all customer inquiries and also enter data as needed to keep the process moving.
- Read and review switch gear specifications and plans
- Request pricing and lead times through manufacturers and sales reps
- Produce comprehensive and timely switch gear proposals
- Effectively and accurately cost estimate projects
- Maximize sales and profitability by knowing the marketplace and extracting the highest possible competitive selling price.
- Interact with customers to follow up on quotes
- Ensure value-add service from evaluation of existing blueprint
- Review submittal approvals and update quotes accordingly
- Review switch gear changes within drawing bulletins/addendums and update quotes accordingly
- Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships
- Collaborate with Sales team and management concerning customer status, history, changes, potential, quotations, strategies, and other related pertinent sales information.
- Input data and communicate with customers/vendors
- Collaborate with Project Management team throughout duration of the project
- Stay current with new product information and emerging technologies
- Ability to use computing skills and knowledge to complete required job tasks
- Ability to understand technical product specifications and drawings
- Ability to understand and maintain project accounting
- Attention to detail, ability to match information and place it accurately

Coordination of all aspects of a project - Friendly demeanor
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or similar major
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Strong problem solving skills
