Job Description

As a Component Engineer - Early Career at Lockheed Martin Space, you’ll have an opportunity to create a better world every day. Your tasks may include selecting parts on new designs that will help defend our country, hands‑on manufacturing of the next satellite, or providing oversight to an extensive supply chain providing products critical to Mission Success. Our Component Engineers routinely work on a broad range of programs and projects - each geared to critical human needs.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related, and formal coursework, training, and/or experience in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical components and circuits.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related background, or field of study.
  • Formal coursework, training, and/or experience in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical components and circuits.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills
  • Familiar with electronics and/or semiconductor physics and operation of devices such as integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitors is highly desired.
  • Specific expertise in active and passive EEE parts.
  • Ability to multi‑task, handle shifting priorities and timeline pressure to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of engineering specification requirements and interpretations is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical design, production/manufacturing, materials and processes is a plus.
  • Must be able to work well virtually with other sites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team‑based environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
