This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.
What does this role look like?- Define the overall electronics hardware architecture that satisfies system performance, weight, power, and reliability targets.
- Review and approve schematic captures, PCB layouts, integration drawings, and test results. Conduct detailed design analyses and ensure modeling results are validated by physical tests.
- Identify technical risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with systems engineers to translate system level requirements into concrete hardware specifications.
- Prepare technical briefings and presentations for external customers or certification bodies.
- Review and approve detailed designs (schematics, PCB layouts, mechanical drawings) and perform technical analyses (signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, radiation hardness).
- Lead design and technical reviews and document decisions, risk mitigations, and action items.
- Identify technical risks early and develop mitigation strategies; track risks on the program risk register.
- Report status and performance metrics to program leadership and customers, providing clear updates on schedule health, technical performance, and risk posture.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, conducting technical workshops on best practice design, analysis, and test methods.
- Prior in-depth experience designing electronics hardware and comfortable using test equipment in a laboratory setting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to develop complex solutions to complex problems.
- Experienced with designing, simulating, and testing digital, analog, mixed-signal, or system-level hardware.
- Demonstrated strong communication with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
- Currently holds an active US Security Secret Clearance.
