Job Description

The Financial Advisor (FA) role is a three‑year program with a forgivable draw, intended for financial advisors or planners who provide financial planning guidance and sell investment management solutions. The FA will leverage experience to service the unique and complex needs of TD Wealth clients by reviewing financial goals and making investment recommendations aligned to client objectives. The role serves as the central point of contact, responsible for client service, relationship development, and achieving greater share of wallet by helping clients achieve goals related to asset accumulation, preservation, growth, and protection.

  • Demonstrates customer‑centric service delivery to maximize retention and growth
  • Ensures all new clients receive the complete onboarding experience, including discovery, financial needs analysis, introductions to the client‑servicing team, and completion of required documents
  • Partners and promotes lead generation
  • Manages goals, prioritizes tasks, and works comfortably in a fast‑paced environment
  • Provides a planning experience for all new and existing clients
  • Implements a process to ensure every client receives an Annual Client Review (ACR) meeting focused on overall wealth needs and proactive contacts
  • Serves as primary point of contact for TD Wealth client relationships, managing interactions with TD Bank and referring to Retail and Wealth partners as needed
  • Executes a differentiated service model for TD Wealth clients
  • Meets quarterly and annual sales goals
  • Deepens wallet share by anticipating client needs and suggesting appropriate Wealth solutions, maximizing profitability while ensuring an exceptional client experience
  • Identifies referral opportunities within portfolio and network to Retail and Small Business/Commercial Partners
  • Executes in a compliant manner with regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Adheres to all federal, state, SRO regulations and firm policies related to business activities (e.g., OCC, SEC, State Insurance Commissioners, NY Department of Financial Services)
  • Ensures all Continuing Education requirements are met
  • Understands and adheres to TD Bank & TD Wealth policies and procedures
  • Implements TD’s Customer Identification Program (CIP), collecting and verifying required customer identification information, and performing other due‑diligence requirements as outlined in the AML procedures
  • Uncovers client assets and transitions high‑threshold clients to appropriate HNW Wealth partners as needed
  • Fosters a positive, constructive work environment supporting the Wealth team
  • Provides coaching, Wealth referral training, and ongoing feedback to Retail and Small Business staff
  • Acts as a mentor to new FAs, ensuring strong performance, collaboration, and enthusiasm
  • Represents TD Wealth to the public professionally
  • Participates in community and TDBG charity initiatives
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of advice, planning and investment sales experience
  • SIE, Series 7, Series 63 required
  • Required to obtain L&H and Series 66 (or equivalent) or have the ability to do so
  • Advanced understanding of wealth products and services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to travel within assigned market, meeting prospects, clients and partners five days a week
  • Ability to commute within assigned territory
  • Strong understanding of wealth‑management business development techniques
  • Experience interacting with retail and small‑business banking clients
  • Consultative sales experience required
  • Proven ability to establish relationships and partner with other departments
