Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi‑specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides selected services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia.
This position is a hybrid role, working 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
Position OverviewThe Accountant coordinates and prepares the usual and customary accounting transactions and activities with assigned Corporate Accounting functions such as general ledger, intercompany transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgets, financial reporting, or other assigned accounting functions in accordance with sound accounting standards, practices, principles, and company policies and procedures.
QualificationsBachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- One to three years of experience required in general corporate accounting in a major accounting function such as General Ledger, Budget, Financial Reporting, AP, etc. Three to five years of experience preferred.
- Generates, receives or consolidates periodic reports from AP, AR closings and journal entries.
- Posts expenses and generates statements and worksheets.
- Working knowledge of general accounting concepts, practices, standards, principles, and activities related to one or more corporate accounting functions such as General Ledger, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, etc.
- Gathers relevant information and calculates, anticipates and eliminates expenses.
