Human Resources Consultant (Part‑Time, Weekly)

MEA – Mid Atlantic Employer's Association, King of Prussia, PA seeks experienced HR professionals for a role within our HR Outsourcing and Consulting service group. The position offers flexibility in hours (10–30 hours per week) and the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of organizations across size and industry.

The successful candidate will provide strategic HR support and implement best practices, leveraging MEA's subject‑matter expertise and HR assessment tools to assess current HR practices and recommend solutions that address compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness gaps.

• Support clients in managing HR functions, interpreting policies and related government laws and regulations.
• Lead day‑to‑day HR initiatives, guiding clients through performance management, employee development, employee relations, benefits and leave administration, and legal compliance.
• Maintain employee data, process workflows, and HR documentation.
• Assist with compensation, training, conflict resolution, policy development, and legal compliance, working with MEA’s experts and resources.
• Address employee‑relations issues, including harassment allegations and work complaints, independently or in consultation with MEA’s HR and Legal teams.

• Participate in HR assessment projects, either stand‑alone or as part of an outsourced relationship.
• Review documents in key HR functional areas for compliance and best‑practice concerns.
• Facilitate conversations with member leadership, management, and employees to understand current HR processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
• Prepare reports and action plans based on document review and interviews.

• Support additional project duties (handbook, training, recruiting, etc.) as assigned.
• Develop or deliver training content and policy language in consultation with members.

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with key stakeholders.
• Sound judgment, confidentiality, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong collaboration and partnership skills with internal and external clients.
• Knowledge of HR principles, functions, methodologies, and best practices.
• Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategy into action.
• Expert knowledge across multiple HR functional areas (compliance, employee relations, compensation, benefits).
• Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of four (4) years of well‑rounded HR generalist or HR business partner experience.
• Experience with payroll systems.
• PHR or SHRM‑CP certification preferred.

• Ability to visit the KOP, PA location once per month for staff meetings.
• Must attend meetings on Thursdays on‑site in KOP, PA.
• Travel to client locations within Philadelphia and Bucks County, PA area.

• Hourly rate, flexible hours from 10–30 hours per week based on client needs.
