About the Role

POWER is seeking a highly organized, systems-driven Human Resources Coordinator to serve as a key operational partner within our HR function. This role is critical to supporting employee lifecycle processes, compliance, HR systems, reporting, and internal program execution as we continue to scale as a fast-growing engineering and consulting firm.
This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in operational environments, understands compliance, values structure and process, and is motivated by building scalable HR infrastructure.
The right candidate will bring strong HR systems capability, technical proficiency (including AI tools and advanced Excel), and a detail-oriented, execution-focused mindset.
What You'll Do
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
- Monitor regulatory updates impacting HR practices
- Maintain centralized compliance and documentation repositories
- Ensure HR documentation and records remain audit-ready
- Support compliance reporting (EEO-1, 401(k) audits, payroll compliance, etc.)
- Assist with audit preparation and regulatory documentation
- Partner with HR leadership to align operations with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and execute onboarding communications and workflows
- Process new hire documentation across internal and external systems
- Manage orientation scheduling and facilitation
- Develop standardized onboarding checklists and workflows
- Manage offboarding processes, documentation, and exit interview support
- Ensure accurate digital recordkeeping and document management
- Maintain and update employee records across HR platforms
- Support system integrations and data feeds
- Develop regular and ad hoc HR reporting
- Track salary history, bonuses, and compensation changes
- Serve as payroll backup support
- Leverage AI tools to improve workflow efficiency and reporting
- Identify opportunities for automation and system optimization
- Reconcile benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies
- Support benefits compliance and documentation
- Assist with 401(k) audits and related activities
- Ensure compensation updates are accurately reflected in HR systems
- Support performance management tracking and documentation
- Assist with rollout of HR programs and initiatives
- Help build scalable HR processes to support company growth
- Maintain HR intranet and internal resources
- Support HR project coordination and timelines
- Respond to HR inquiries and internal tickets
- Provide guidance on HR processes and policy navigation
- Support back-office initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Provide operational HR support to employees and leadership
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of HR or HR-related experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits platforms
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reporting, analytics)
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail in fast-paced environments
- Experience handling confidential employee data
- Experience using AI tools for workflow efficiency and reporting
- Experience supporting compliance reporting and audits
- Exposure to multi-state employment environments
