Senior Looker Administrator

Senior Looker Administrator

We are seeking a Senior Looker Administrator to help operate, modernize, and migrate an enterprise Looker environment. This position will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for platform reliability, administration, governance, integrations, and advanced Looker capabilities.

Looker Platform Administration

• Provide advanced L3/L4 support across Looker Development and Production environments

• Manage and validate platform upgrades, releases, and patches

• Coordinate Dev/Prod deployments and LookML workflows

• Troubleshoot complex platform, modeling, query, and performance issues

Security & Governance

• Develop scripted processes for user provisioning and entitlement management

• Troubleshoot Azure AD synchronization and entitlement drift

• Establish access governance standards and platform guardrails

• Maintain technical documentation and operational standards

Looker APIs & Advanced Capabilities

• Support Looker APIs, including Admin APIs, Inline Queries, and Query

• Evaluate platform performance, concurrency, and usage patterns

• Support API-driven analytics and AI use cases

• Help enable dynamic SQL generation through Looker APIs

Cloud Migration

• Support the migration from customer-hosted Looker to Google-hosted Looker Core

• Define test plans and validation criteria

• Participate in proof-of-concept activities

• Identify and mitigate platform risks during migration

Data Modernization

• Support query validation during Teradata-to-Snowflake modernization

• Validate Looker models and query behavior across data platforms

• Establish consistent performance and modeling standards

Knowledge Transfer

• Create runbooks, documentation, and best practices

• Mentor internal engineering teams

• Help transition ongoing platform ownership to internal resources

• Enterprise Looker administration experience

• Strong LookML and BI platform knowledge

• Experience with production support and platform troubleshooting

• Experience with Git/Git Hub-based development workflows

• Understanding of identity and access management, particularly Azure AD

• Experience with Looker APIs

• Strong SQL and data modeling knowledge

• Experience with
  Snowflake and/or Teradata

• Cloud migration experience is highly valuable

• Excellent documentation, communication, and knowledge-transfer skills
