Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Machinist Experimental Intern  In this role you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

- Follow instructions to machine, fabricate, or assemble parts to print and operation sheet specifications using CNC machines

- Interpret CAD data, prints and sketches regarding fabrication and follow written instructions

- Inspect parts prior to submission and as they are produced using standard gages, micrometers, indicators, vernier calipers, depth gages, and other measuring devices to ensure conformity to specifications

- Select and install proper cutting tools, zero in the machine to control and make other necessary setup adjustments

Must be a US Citizen  This position will require the ability to obtain a government security clearance

* Basic Qualifications:

* - Must be enrolled in an accredited college with a major in Mechanical Engineering or related field

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints  experience with a program such as CAD, etc  

- Basic understanding of technical process concepts

- Must be a US Citizen  This position will require the ability to obtain a government security clearance

Skills:

* - Ability to communicate and follow detailed technical instructions

- Desired candidate would have experience with Mazatrol/Mastercam/NX a plus

** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees   Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed   These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits
