Ground Software Engineer Sr

Position Overview

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Level 3 Ground Software Engineer with an active Final Top Secret security clearance to work from either King of Prussia, PA or Littleton, CO. This position is contingent upon the program award expected in July 2026.

• Develop innovative enterprise, cloud‑based solutions for mission management and command and control.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain object‑oriented ground system software applications using Java, Angular, and Python.
• Support modernization efforts to improve efficiency, security, automation, and scalability.
• Collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, and test engineers using Agile Development methodology.
• Progress system capabilities from early design through site acceptance, focusing on software reuse, COTS/FOSS integration, and innovative best practices.

• Active Top Secret clearance with adjudicated SCI eligibility (TS/SCI) prior to starting employment.
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development (Early‑Mid Career level).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Strong background in software development and engineering with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Experience developing ground subsystems.
• Experience with Scaled Agile development methodologies and excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Java, JEE, C#, .NET, JavaScript, Type Script, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Python, and Git Lab.
• Knowledge of web development, cloud‑based technologies, microservice architectures, relational and No
  
  SQL databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Dev Sec Ops  and CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous integration.
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration.

• Proficiency in application containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
• Designing and documenting microservice‑based architectures.
• Development and debugging of web applications and web services.

This position requires a government security clearance; applicants must be U.S. citizens. Clearance level is TS/SCI.

Annual base salary range: $93,200 - $164,450, depending on location and market.
