- Collaborate with a high‑performing team of software engineers to develop, enhance, and sustain satellite mission planning capabilities.
- Design, develop, test, and demonstrate mission planning software solutions for both internal and external customers.
- Serve as a Satellite Mission Planning Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical leadership and guidance on mission planning concepts, algorithms, operational workflows, and software implementations.
- Lead the design and implementation of complex mission planning features, ensuring technical solutions align with mission requirements and system architecture.
- Support requirements analysis, architecture development, technical trade studies, and software design reviews.
- Mentor software engineers and provide guidance on mission planning domain knowledge, software design, and implementation best practices.
- Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, daily scrums, demonstrations, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, operators, architects, and customers to translate mission needs into software capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in satellite mission planning, mission scheduling, resource allocation, or spacecraft operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, development, and implementation of mission planning algorithms and software systems.
- Experience serving as a technical lead or providing technical direction for software development efforts.
- Experience developing software using C#, Java, or similar object‑oriented programming languages.
- Experience working within Agile software development teams.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with either a favorable polygraph adjudication, or agreement to submit to a polygraph, and ability to maintain the required clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.
- Knowledge of orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, and spacecraft operations.
- Experience developing optimization, scheduling, planning, or decision‑support algorithms.
- Full software development lifecycle experience, including requirements, design, implementation, test, deployment, and sustainment.
- Experience with Git Lab CI/CD, automated testing, deployment pipelines, and Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Experience supporting customer demonstrations, technical reviews, and operational mission planning activities.
- Experience mentoring engineers and serving as a technical authority within a software development organization.
This position requires a government security clearance. A TS/SCI with Polygraph is required. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
