The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Software Engineer II – AI Solutions. The Software Engineer II – AI Solutions will design, build, and deploy AI-driven capabilities within complex healthcare environments. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers, clinicians, and operational teams to translate real-world problems into secure, scalable, and maintainable software. This role will help implement AI/programmatic assisted workflows, assist in cloud platform maintenance, and integrate AI models into production systems that support critical healthcare operations.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of hands-on engineering, problem-solving in the field, and collaborating directly with end users to deliver high-impact solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Works hands-on with clinicians, analysts, and operational teams to understand workflows, gather requirements, and translate ambiguous real-world problems into concrete technical solutions.
• Iterates quickly based on user feedback
• Develops and implements AI/ML solutions for our operational and clinical customers with guidance from senior engineers.
• Supports compliance efforts by following HIPAA, GDPR, and healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM).
• Designs and implements comprehensive test suites to assess the performance of deployed machine learning applications.
• Ensures the reliability, performance, and operational continuity of AI platforms.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks, optimize resource usage, and implement improvements that keep mission-critical healthcare workflows running smoothly with minimal downtime.
• Participates in code reviews and team discussions to improve development best practices.
• Stays updated on healthcare AI trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML or backend development, ideally within healthcare or regulated industries.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript/Typescript.
• Experience with machine learning tools such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, Langchain, or Keras.
• Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining scalable architecture is a plus.
• Basic understanding of healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM) and data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR).
• Experience with SQL & No
  
  SQL databases for healthcare data storage and retrieval.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Palantir, Databricks).
• Familiarity with Observability tools such as Graphana, Datadog, or Langfuse.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Large Language Models and has used them in a production environment.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops, and automated deployment strategies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot software and cloud platform level issues.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams.
