Level 3 Ground Software Engineer

Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented Level 3 Ground Software Engineer with a Final Top Secret security clearance to work from our King of Prussia, PA location. We are looking for software engineers to craft and build innovative solutions for our customers. You will be part of an Agile team that utilizes state of the art commercial standard methodologies such as Dev Sec Ops  (automated testing, continuous integration, automated deployment, etc.)

and modern development tools. You will participate in progressing system capabilities from early design through site acceptance focused on software reuse, COTS/FOSS integrations, and innovative, affordable best practices. As Ground Software Engineer:

• You will design, implement, test, and maintain object-oriented ground system software applications using Java, C#, Rust, Angular, Python
• You will support modernization efforts geared toward achieving greater efficiency, security, automation and scalability
• You will collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, and test engineers using the Agile Development methodology

Selected candidates will be required to possess Active Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (i.e. TS/SCI) prior to starting employment.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.

Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications:

• Strong Software Development, Software Engineering background, with a track record of successful project delivery
• Experience developing ground subsystems
• Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and teamwork across Agile Development Teams.
• Active TS Clearance required for consideration with the ability to obtain an SCI.

Desired

Skills:

• Meaningful experience designing and implementing software solutions using the following technologies:
  Java, C#, Rust, Python, Apache Kafka, Apache ActiveMQ, ELK Stack/Open Search, PostgreSQL, Redis, Helm, Kubernetes
• Cloud/containerization experience with a good understanding of distributed systems and designing for scalability
• Experience developing microservices
• Proficient in using Git for version control and collaboration
• Working knowledge of Dev Sec Ops  Pipelines
• Excellent understanding of Agile Methodologies as they relate to the Scaled Agile Framework
• Experience with Agile, automated test, CI/CD, and regression testing
• Committed with strong problem-solving skills applied to software engineering solutions
• Experience with back end development and algorithms
• Previous experience delivering highly reliable Communications / Ground subsystems

Pay Information:
