Elementary TEACHER

Duration: 10 month, 7.5 hours per day, Grade level to be determined

The position is for an Elementary Teacher at Stokes County Schools, Mount Olive Elementary, King, North Carolina. The teacher will report to the Principal and may coordinate and direct the activities of teacher assistants.

• Plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills.
• Manage instructional time by ensuring materials and equipment are ready, starting lessons quickly, and maintaining high student time‑on‑task.
• Establish and enforce clear rules and procedures for student behavior, verbal participation, and movement; monitor behavior during all instructional activities and transitions.
• Deliver instructional presentations, including reviewing prior materials, introducing objectives, explaining concepts, providing examples and demonstrations, and assessing student understanding.
• Monitor student performance through oral, written, and other assessment methods, maintaining clear standards and due dates.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on in‑class and out‑of‑class work to encourage growth.
• Develop and maintain instructional plans aligned with school and system goals, using diagnostic information to adjust objectives and tasks.
• Interact fairly and effectively with students, co‑workers, parents and community members.
• Perform non‑instructional duties as assigned, uphold policies and regulations, and pursue professional development.
• Carry out related duties as required.

• Degree in education or related field qualifying for licensure by North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
• Proficiency in managing instructional time, student behavior, presentation, monitoring, feedback, facilitation, interaction and non‑instructional duties.
• Physical ability to use classroom equipment, handle light work, and meet standard physical requirements.
• Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  
  monitoring student safety, motivating students, maintaining a clean environment, performing clerical duties, operating office machines, filing, following written instructions, and establishing effective working relationships.
• Strong communication, analytical, numerical and organizational skills.
