Position Summary
This Limited Term Employment (LTE) Facilities Repair Worker performs painting and surface preparation work under the general supervision of the Building/Grounds Superintendent. The incumbent supports maintenance and improvement projects, completing painting work on interior and limited exterior surfaces in occupied institutional buildings. Emphasis is placed on safety, quality, and minimizing disruption to facility operations. Materials and surfaces include metal, wood, plaster/drywall, concrete masonry units, concrete floors, ceilings, doors, frames and similar building components.
SalaryInformation
Starting wage is $20.34 per hour, plus additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. This position is in pay schedule‑pay range 03‑10. Current or eligible former State employees will receive compensation in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective employee benefits are offered.
Job Details and ResponsibilitiesThe Facilities Repair Worker will perform basic maintenance functions including changing light bulbs, performing preventative maintenance, filter changes, painting, and other support tasks for the facilities team.
Physical and Environmental Conditions- Interior building conditions typical of a long‑term health care facility.
- Work performed across the campus, including multi‑building institution with underground tunnels, on 321 acres of varied terrain, in all weather conditions.
- Required use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses, dust masks, gloves, and leg protection.
- Heavy physical labor, including lifting in excess of 100 lbs.

QualificationsMinimally qualified applicants will have experience performing general maintenance tasks across building and grounds structures, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and general knowledge of safety protocols.
- Working in a 24/7 facility.
- Operating and repairing large and small motorized equipment.
- Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Following established safety procedures.
