The City of Kingman is hiring seasonal Program Aides to help support summer recreation programs for kids, teens, and adults. This entry-level role is a great way to gain hands-on experience helping run activities, events, and programs while working as part of a fun, fast-paced team. You’ll assist with daily programs, help supervise participants, and keep activities running smoothly and safely.

You enjoy working with people, staying active, and being part of a team. You’re comfortable helping supervise groups, following directions, and pitching in wherever needed to support recreational programs. You take responsibility seriously and understand the importance of safety, organization, and professionalism.
- At least 15 years of age
- Some experience working with youth or adult programs, or a combination of education, experience, and training related to recreational activities
- Ability to follow directions, maintain program standards, and enforce rules when needed
- Willingness to work early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
- CPR/First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days of assignment
- Some assignments may require a valid Arizona driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
- Program Support & Activities (45%): Assist with planning, preparing, and leading recreational activities such as games, crafts, sports, field trips, and indoor/outdoor programs. Help the Program Assistant with daily attendance and activity implementation and ensure programs are organized and engaging.
- Participant Supervision & Safety (25%): Provide guidance, care, and supervision for program participants. Observe safety precautions, help maintain order, and report unsafe conditions to ensure programs operate safely.
- Facility & Equipment Setup (15%): Prepare facilities, equipment, and service areas for daily activities. Assist with opening, closing, storing, securing, cleaning, and sanitizing program spaces and equipment.
- Customer Service & Communication (10%): Greet patrons, respond to questions, and provide information about programs, activities, and policies. Maintain professional communication with participants, coworkers, and the public.
- Administrative & Support Tasks (5%): Complete attendance logs, incident reports, timesheets, and other required records. Attend required meetings and trainings and assist with special events or additional programs as needed.
