Home Instruction Support Teacher. Campus:
District Wide. School Year: 2026-27 (July 22, 2026 – May 19, 2027). The home instruction support teacher provides instructional services in the homes of students enrolled in the Kingman Unified School District as either Homebound or AHAP (Alternative Home Administrative Placement). Homebound students are unable to attend school due to medical conditions that prevent them from attending a school. AHAP students are placed in the program as a result of a Board Hearing or by the Director of Special Education.
A flexible work schedule is required for teachers in this program.
Work life balance:
4‑day work weeks; 148‑day employment contract; 13 weeks off throughout the year. Employee health insurance options with some premiums paid 100% by the District. A retirement pension through Arizona State Retirement System where 100% of your contributions are matched by the District.
- Provide educational services to students who have been medically designated as unable to attend school.
- Meet regularly with students as outlined in students' plans.
- Provide educational services to students who have been home placed or placed at home via a disciplinary hearing.
- Develop a working relationship with student's parents/guardians, providing a primary point of contact.
- Maintain and adhere to the qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and duties and responsibilities of the regular teacher job description.
- Document all instruction times and activities, to be signed off by the site principal.
- Work with student's guardian(s) to establish a mutually‑agreeable schedule and method of delivery for educational services; services must be provided synchronously, either in‑person or virtually.
- Prepare, implement and evaluate an educational plan for each student, including alignment to the IEP objectives when appropriate.
- Maintain a gradebook, reporting grades to the school the student is officially enrolled in; keep a log of parent contact.
- Work effectively with peers, parents and administrators and others to maintain confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with proctoring state assessments, midterms and final exams at predetermined district and/or home sites.
- Participate in professional development and trainings related to home instruction responsibilities.
- Meet established deadlines for required paperwork.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Base Pay: KUSD's minimum and maximum new hire salary ranges for teachers include the district's contracted salary, determined by years of experience and higher education, plus state‑funded Prop 301 money. The contracted salary combined with $8,500 in 301 money creates the base wages for teachers, which are represented by the salary ranges. Prop 301 money is paid separately and not included in the employment contract.
The salary range for candidates with up to four years of teaching experience is $45,575 – $55,475. The salary range for candidates with four or more years of teaching experience is $47,575 – $57,475.
Performance Pay:
In addition to base pay, certified teaching staff are eligible for an additional $4,500 in Prop 301 performance pay.
- Math, science, and kindergarten positions – one‑time $2,000 stipend.
- Special education positions – one‑time $5,000 stipend.
- Special education teachers – case management stipend in FY 2025‑26 of up to $4,000.
- Special education teachers in ED‑P classrooms – stipend in FY 2025‑26 of $10,000.
