Summary/Objective
Create a flexible classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students, parents, and staff; promote social, physical, and intellectual development through subject matter and skills that support student success; assist students in earning industry‑recognized certifications and gaining work‑based learning opportunities in the field of Construction Trades.

- Respond to all internal and external customers in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner.
- Teach district‑approved curriculum as specified in the Arizona Standards.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of students.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Communicate regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning environment.
- Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Partner with local businesses to ensure the curriculum is relevant and to create real‑world learning opportunities such as internships or field trips.
- Help students with career planning, decision‑making, and connecting their skills to potential job opportunities.
- Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff information even after no longer employed.
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies, regulations, and rules.
- Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner.
- Teach students how to use tools and equipment safely and demonstrate specific skills related to a trade or occupation.
- Evaluate student learning through assignments, projects, and exams, and provide constructive feedback.
- Train students to pass industry certifications required for their chosen career path.

Work EnvironmentThis job primarily operates within the school environment.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to observe, communicate, and exchange information; remain stationary, move about, and reach; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is an exempt, part‑time position (1–2 class periods per day) contracted for 148 days from July through May.
RequiredEducation and Experience
CTE Teacher Certification:
Industrial and Emerging Technology; preferred teaching experience in a public school district.
Teaching certification issued by the Arizona Department of Education, appropriate to the teaching assignment.
Work Authorization/Security ClearanceMust be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
