Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

* Oversees the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial reports for the entire organization.

* Designs and recommends new or modified accounting systems to support the development and distribution of accurate and timely financial reports.

* Implements and monitors nationally accepted accounting controls, to detect errors in financial reporting on a timely basis.

* Manages annual budget process, including the development of benchmarks for departmental and organizational financial performance.

* Monitors, analyzes and manages the changes, trends and modifications in healthcare reimbursement systems of all payers for accurate and timely reporting of net revenue, and operational planning.

* Identifies trends and budget variances, and makes recommendations for financial performance improvements to departments and CFO.

* Coordinates annual audits by independent or regulatory auditors.

* Prepares regular cash forecasts to support meeting operating and capital need.

* Manages the capital requisition process ensuring organizational and budgetary compliance.

* Prepares and reports statistical information needed to thoroughly analyze organizational financial performance.

* Manages and coordinates the complete revenue cycle operations including revenue systems financial integration and process integrity.

* Monitors and processes physician recruitment financial arrangements made with physicians.

* Coordinates and manages cost reporting processes, including the preparation of the annual Medicare Cost report, annual state reporting, and other governmental financial reporting.

* Oversees the development of customer service initiatives that assure top quartile performance in patient satisfaction.

* Oversees Patient Financial Services operations assuring the timely billing and collection of patient/insurance claims (as measured by days in accounts receivable).

* Management and Leadership

Skills:

* Assures that reporting departments perform at approximately the 50th percentile or better of national benchmarks and meet annual operating budgets.

* Through persuasion or example, motivates and influences members of the areas of responsibility toward the achievement of desired objectives.

* Effectively communicates with staff at all levels of the organization. Conveys the mission, vision, and goals of KHI and the division, as well as other necessary information to the appropriate individuals.
