JOB SUMMARYThe Full-Time Life & Workforce Readiness Manager is responsible for developing programs, activities, and services that prepare youth and teens for success by creating a safe and positive Club environment that facilitates achievement and results in designated outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
Club operations, program management, supervision of members, recruitment, maintaining community partnerships, facilitating life & workforce readiness programming in collaboration with AZ Youth force, supporting outreach efforts in schools, and supervision of any part‑time Youth Development Specialists that are tied specifically to teen programming.
- Ensure the safety and security of staff, members, volunteers, facility, and Club assets
- Support annual recruitment, member retention, and attendance goals
- Support collaborative relationships with community partners, Middle Schools and High Schools
- Open and close the Club; provide direct supervision during operating hours
- Lead and implement planning, development, and evaluation of Club programs and services to ensure they meet priority outcomes and member needs
- Promote and stimulate members' interest and participation in Club-wide programs, including support for Middle and High School programming that creates a pathway for teen program involvement
- Track attendance and participation data
- Maintain productive and effective working relationships with parents, organization staff and management in accomplishing goals and objectives
- Foster supportive and healthy interactions for members and develop a Club culture that includes physical and emotional safety, respect, inclusion, and free of bullying
- In collaboration with AZ Youth force, facilitate Life & Workforce Readiness programming with attending Club Members, students at partnering schools, and youth workers
- Interview and train youth workers on program expectations, safety guidelines, and youth engagement techniques
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to youth workers to ensure a safe and positive environment for children
- Conduct check‑ins with youth workers to assess their performance, address concerns, and offer professional development
- Facilitate career and job fairs
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and 6 years of youth development or related experience
- Must obtain/maintain a current CPR & First Aid certification (within first 90 days of employment)
- Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license
- Working knowledge of federal and state laws and company policies and procedures
- Ability to oversee the physical property and assets of the Club
- Knowledge of vehicles to ensure that they are always operating safely
- Knowledge of Youth Development service delivery
- Ability to maintain and cultivate excellent member/family and community relationships and possess excellent customer service skills
- Ability to interact effectively and communicate (in writing and orally) with a variety of members, local government entities, neighborhood groups, agencies, schools, volunteers, and teens
- Ability to represent and make presentations to schools, and local partner agencies as needed
- Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Familiarity with principles and practices of supervision
- Ability to communicate with parents, maintain confidentiality and engage in respectful interactions
- Ability to articulate for giving, serve as an ambassador, engage in relationship building and promote philanthropy
- Ability to support the efficiency of Volunteers and future workforce needs to support volunteer program operations
- Travel between BGCA Z Branches, schools and community sites is required. Must meet the insurance standards of BGC
- Work is performed in Branches and in the community
- Evening or weekend hours required on an as needed basis
