DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and float coverage to the Observation Unit.
Details- Emergency Department setting with floating between ED and CDU (Observation Unit)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Meditech charting system preferred but not required
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC required; ESI preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Experience with general adult/pediatric ED, trauma, stroke, and STEMI care preferred
- Skills in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation preferred
- Experience managing psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma patient populations preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
- Perform triage, IV therapy, and emergency medication administration as needed
- Support isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- First-time travelers accepted if they have more than 2 years of ED experience
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
- Minimal RTO requested at time of consideration
