City Of Kingman Police Officer (Lateral)

The City of Kingman Police Department is seeking lateral Police Officers to join in a 24/7 operational environment. The role requires independent judgment when handling routine and complex situations and offers opportunities for specialized assignments as experience and training are gained. The Kingman Police Department is accredited through the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program and was one of the first agencies in Arizona to receive this accreditation.

Salary: $32.25 - $43.20 Hourly

Varied shift work 10 or 12 hour shifts to include nights and weekends

Budgeted Min: $32.25

Pre-employment Requirements:
Fingerprinting, Drug Screening, Physical Examination, Polygraph, Psychological Evaluation, Hepatitis B, Subject to Random Testing? Yes

Testing & Certification Requirements:
Arizona POST-certified officers and qualifying out-of-state certified officers may be eligible for waiver of certain testing, hiring, or certification requirements, as permitted by Arizona POST and approved by the Chief of Police.

Additional Information:
This position is posted with the full salary range indicating future potential earnings; however, the actual hiring salary for this position is dependent upon relevant experience and qualifications above minimum requirements and position funding. Therefore, all starting salaries above the midpoint require further review and additional approval.

You bring prior law enforcement experience and are comfortable handling enforcement, investigations, and public interactions in a 24/7 operational environment. You exercise independent judgment, maintain detailed records, and uphold ethical and professional standards while working collaboratively with other officers and agencies.

What You'll Do For The City Of Kingman:

Patrol, Enforcement & Emergency Response (45%):
Patrol assigned areas, respond to dispatched calls, enforce criminal and traffic laws, make arrests, conduct searches, control crowds, direct traffic, and respond to emergencies including evacuations and hazardous situations to ensure public safety and welfare.

Investigations & Evidence Handling (25%):
Conduct at-scene and follow-up investigations, interview witnesses and suspects, collect and preserve evidence, prepare investigative findings, serve subpoenas and warrants, testify in court, and support the judicial process.

Community Interaction & Public Assistance (15%):
Interact with the public, mediate disputes, assist individuals in need, perform welfare and security checks, communicate with informants, and maintain professional working relationships with community members and partner agencies.

Reporting, Records & Professional Standards (15%):
Prepare detailed reports, maintain required records accurately and timely, operate law enforcement tools and systems, maintain proficiency with equipment, follow department policies, work safely, and support department operations through regular attendance and professionalism.
