City of Kingman – Electrician III – Water Operations Division

Perform advanced journey‑level electrical work to support City water operations. The role may be underfilled as Electrician I or II.

About You

You are a skilled electrician comfortable working independently, diagnosing complex electrical issues, and making sound decisions in the field. Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to safety, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications are essential. Experience working in commercial, industrial, or utility environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Water Systems Support (60%) – Install, inspect, test, calibrate, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment at water facilities.
  • Preventive Maintenance, Documentation & Inventory (25%) – Inspect equipment, maintain logs, records, and wiring diagrams; replenish supplies and maintain parts inventory.
  • Operational Support (15%) – Respond to emergency call‑outs, report hazards, perform construction, mechanical, and maintenance work, maintain tools, and provide quality customer service.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical or trade school coursework, apprenticeship, or equivalent electrical training.
  • Completion of a recognized four‑year electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training.
  • At least three years of experience as a skilled electrician, including two or more years in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License (Class

    B) or ability to obtain one within six months of hire.
  • Ability to respond to emergency call‑outs and participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Ability to obtain required certifications, including NIMS.
  • Assignment may require obtaining Arizona Grade 1 Water or Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification.
