Material Handler I

Job Title

Performs the necessary functions to support the Materials Department. Perform material handling duties to maintain proper flow, distribution and accuracy of material and supplies in assigned areas. The primary responsibilities of this position is to perform decanting (unboxing) of inbound material for the clutch assembly lines. Materials will be transferred to recycled dunnage and smaller totes to allow safe material handling on the lines.

This position will be required to operate a hoist.

Essential Functions:

• Replenish parts as needed by MFG, Assembly Line, welder, kit rack and MSW.
• Maintains timely and accurate flow of parts in to and out of customer areas.
• Use computer to locate where material is warehoused.
• Operate lifting aids and/or overhead hoists to manipulate and move parts.
• Power industrial equipment experience (Forklift, etc.)
• Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and 5S+ and Lean activities.

Required Skills and Minimum Years of

Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Preferred:
Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point

Complies with all company safety policies and procedures. Good communication skills with other. Ability to perform job function without direct supervision. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
