To adjust and finalize color submissions through the use of lab equipment, and perform quality control functions.

  • Measure, weigh up color formula’s materials to meet customer specifications.
  • Weigh pigments, dyes, additives, and liquids by hand, and blend them on a mixer.
  • Produce color chips using injection molding machines for sample submission and for each lot of colorant manufactured to ensure quality control.
  • Match customer submissions as accurately as possible using lab equipment and guidance from experienced technicians.
  • Clean work area as needed, and follow all Safety rules and regulations.
  • Refill supply cabinets, pigment containers, pitchers, etc.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with sample production and may perform product testing.
  • May be trained to run the Mill, or bottle machine to produce color sheets, or bottles for sample submission.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned, such as filing of folders, chips, and paperwork.
  • Work extended hours/weekends when assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 1‑2 years prior experience in a lab environment preferred and plastics industry experience highly desirable.
  • Strong basic math and measurement skills as evidenced by passing a basic math/weighing measurement test prior to employment, and able to perform advanced math, such as conversions, capability analysis, etc.
  • Ability to see color accurately and able to pass Farnsworth‑Munsell color test prior to employment, and minimum one color test annually after first year of employment.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, competent reading abilities, and good verbal communication skills.
