Job summaryA reliable and precise Tool and Die Setter is sought to join our manufacturing team. This role involves setting up and operating various sizes of presses, selecting and installing appropriate dies and tooling for each job, and performing necessary adjustments during production runs. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong mechanical skills, and be committed to maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.
Duties and responsibilitiesA Tool and Die Setter is responsible for setting up and operating stamping and specialty presses, installing tooling, and loading materials. They perform complete die setups, adjust equipment for proper function and safety, and test machines to ensure they meet specifications. Quality inspection using precision tools and troubleshooting equipment and process issues are also key duties. Additional responsibilities include routine maintenance, supporting installations and technical projects, assisting operators, and operating overhead cranes safely.
Tool and Die Setters also maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.## Qualifications Requirements and qualifications
Requirements for a Tool and Die Setter include a high school diploma or GED and previous experience in a metal stamping or manufacturing setting with press machines or injection molding. They should be able to read blueprints and technical drawings and possess strong mechanical skills, including the use of precision measuring tools.
Experience with metal stamping and safety procedures like crane safety and lock out tag out is preferred. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, good communication, and the ability to work extended hours.
