American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a community hospital, requiring at least 18 months of PCU experience and the ability to float across a regional health system.
Requirements- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 18 months of PCU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience required: tracheostomy care, cardiac drip management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care/dressing changes, and central line management
- Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- One professional reference dated within the past year required; must be from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Combined PCU and Med‑Surg unit with 33 beds in a 58‑licensed‑bed community hospital with no trauma designation
- Patient population includes stroke R/O, pneumonia, cellulitis, failure to thrive, AMS, chest pain R/O, Afib, COPD, and similar diagnoses
- RN‑to‑patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
- 12‑hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Floating required within scope of practice to facilities across Region 3, which includes Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and the Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) — do not apply if not agreeable to this requirement
- May float to a nearby affiliated facility (approximately 15–20 minutes away) fairly regularly; advance notice is typically provided
- Low census call is possible; may be called back up to 3:00 PM for day shift
- 75% of assigned holidays must be worked

Philips - Telemetry is monitored at the nurses' station and remotely at a central monitoring hub
- First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
- Department support includes CNAs, a Receptionist/HUC (most day shifts), a charge nurse (typically without a patient assignment), phlebotomy, an IV/VAT team, a resource nurse (as staffing allows), RT available 24/7, and a 24/7 hospitalist team (mix of in‑person and virtual)
- Orientation includes a facility‑level new employee orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Scheduling is done in 6‑week cycles
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; additional time may be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours cannot otherwise be met
- Required scrub color: navy blue
