Group Lead Person who directs area associates in the process flow of a department in the distribution center as directed by the department supervisor. This role requires knowledge of Promotions operations and the PKMS/WM system and the ability to travel between sites as necessary. The role also manages corrugate levels for promotions.
Essential Functions- Interact and communicate effectively with employees.
- Hands‑on involvement with all aspects of the department operation, providing clear directions, instructions, and procedures to a group of hourly co‑workers for performing basic department functions.
- Lead and coordinate activities of workers engaged in department activities and train new employees on job duties.
- Ensure all work is performed according to company‑approved procedures, standards and specifications.
- Provide a healthy and safe environment through monthly training for all personnel.
- Expedite process flows based on communications within the responsibility of departmental operation.
- Embrace the team environment and exhibit good interpersonal skills.
- Run queries to determine department needs.
- Perform necessary inventory transactions.
- Obtain work orders from shift supervisor or computer.
- Prioritize work orders and assign various duties to employees as needed.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervision.
- At the start of the shift, review the work instructions and schedule with the supervisor.
- Obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
- Put on all required PPE and safety gear.
- Perform a daily safety check of the assigned forklift in accordance with company policy to ensure all devices are functioning properly.
ROM includes standing 30% (8 hrs), walking 30% (8 hrs), sitting 40% (8 hrs). Reach, pinch, grasp, turn, twist, drive 75–90% (8 hrs). Twist back, bend 20–50% (8 hrs). Crouch, stoop 20–50% (8 hrs). Reach 12–18″, work area height 12″–72″. Lifting 5–50 lbs within 2–10 ft; carrying similar; push/pull up to 50 lbs within 2–10 ft; break cycle 20 min.
Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceGood attendance and a solid work record. Reading and writing literate, working with mathematical knowledge, understanding implied instructions, and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs. Requires knowledge of promotions and the PKMS/WM system related to promotions.
