Position Summary The APRN will provide comprehensive outpatient care, including patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management. This role requires clinical expertise, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments

Diagnose medical conditions and develop treatment plans

Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests

Prescribe medications

Collaborate with physicians and refer complex or non-routine cases as appropriate

Monitor patient therapies and ensure continuity of care Triage patient calls and assess clinical concerns

Respond to medical emergencies, including performing CPR when necessary

Provide preventive health education and counseling to patients and families

Accurately document patient care in the medical record and maintain required clinical data Basic Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program

Certification (or eligibility for certification) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Experience Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in an outpatient clinical setting

Performance Expectations Knowledge Strong  understanding of the medical model and collaborative roles of physicians and nurse practitioners

Proficiency in anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis

Expertise in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical documentation

Skills

Ability to gather and analyze physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data Strong clinical judgment in evaluating patient needs in person or by phone

Effective care plan development and revision based on patient progress

Abilities

Sound decision-making within the scope of nurse practitioner practice

Strong collaboration with physicians on complex cases

Ability to educate patients, families, and staff in a clear and approachable manner

Physical ability to perform clinical duties requiring manual dexterity and coordination

Education:

MSN required. Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program.

Experience:

Minimum three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting, plus two years of nurse practitioner experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

Current state registered nurse license.

Current state license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority.

Current CPR certification.

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

Knowledge of advanced practice of nursing including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and therapeutics, basic nutrition, behavioral factors, psychosocial/family systems, diagnostic testing, interpretation of results and clinical decision making, alternative treatment modalities.

Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices and regulations related to evaluating and providing patient care, and professional ethics related to the delivery of nursing care.

Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care.

Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.

Knowledge of health promotion, health risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques.
