Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Project Controls professional to lead cost analysis, scheduling, and performance across major industrial projects. Strong planning and cost control experience required—
Primavera P6 proficiency is a big plus!
Responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs, and/or estimating projects. Work is performed under minimal supervision.
Primary Responsibilities- Manage cost analysis and schedule development during the engineering and construction phases of 5–15 concurrent projects.
- Apply strong project controls methodologies paired with excellent analytical skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Oversee project controls for multiple capital projects, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, including estimating, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules aligned with project milestones and deadlines.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to establish project control processes and reporting standards.
- Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates to senior management, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Implement and maintain project control tools and software to track progress and financial performance.
- Facilitate project meetings to review schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Prepare and deliver reports on project status, financial performance, and schedule adherence.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master of Science in Construction Science, Building Science, or related field
- 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control, and estimating
- Strong knowledge of company standards and best practices
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Comprehensive understanding of all engineering disciplines
- Insight into customer expectations and deliverable preferences
- Proven ability to set and manage priorities
- Effective communication and collaboration with engineering disciplines and contractors
- Coaching and mentoring experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Knowledge of interdisciplinary deliverables and schedule constraints
- Ability to develop construction cost estimates, engineering schedules, and man-hour budgets
- Experience estimating and scheduling professional service hours
- Proficient with Primavera P6
, Microsoft Project, Timberline Estimating, and Microsoft Office - Ability to assess progress, quality, and accurate completion timelines for project controls work
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods
