Lead Civil/Structural Design Engineer

Job Requisition

• Develop and implement project specific Civil/Structural engineering execution plan to ensure efficient and effective project execution
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders, including all engineering disciplines, project managers, operations, and procurement, to ensure seamless project integration and successful project delivery
• Lead and manage the execution of Engineering scope of work at the selected engineering service provider in all phases (Pre‑FEED, FEED and Detail Design)
• Monitor and report actual progress and forecasting / check for discipline activities, including control of men‑hours and delivered documents
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations
• Apply industry codes and standards (AISC, ASCE, ACI, IBC, etc) relevant to the chemical industry, utilizing Staad Pro, RISA, TEKLA, E3D or other 3D platform, and other applicable codes, in the design and evaluation of Civil/Structural documents
• Conduct thorough reviews and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Civil/Structural engineering field with focus on the chemical, oil/gas, pharmaceutical or other industrial industries
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as lead Civil/Structural engineer with experience in large capital projects execution
• Ability to mentor and develop lesser experienced team members
• Good written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience in leading a project team of engineers and designers, with excellent leadership and communication skills
• Familiarity with capital stage gate process and understanding of project execution
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to Civil/Structural engineering in industrial setting
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
• Open to travel as needed
