Senior Beckhoff Controls Engineer

MoveATech Group is recruiting experienced Senior Beckhoff Controls Engineers for a major custom automation project supporting the medical device manufacturing sector.

This position offers the opportunity to work on the development and delivery of advanced automated production systems, supporting the project from controls design through to commissioning and installation. Candidates will be heavily involved in PLC/HMI development, machine commissioning, troubleshooting and customer support activities.

Industry: Custom Automation / Medical Device Manufacturing

Hours: 40-50 hours per week during design phase, increasing to 50-60 hours during commissioning

Start Date: 28 September 2026

Travel Required: Installation and commissioning support in Baja, Mexico

• Design and develop PLC and HMI software for custom automated machinery.
• Program and integrate Beckhoff control systems to meet customer specifications.
• Support machine testing, debugging, start-up and commissioning activities.
• Produce operating manuals and technical documentation.
• Review customer specifications and ensure controls systems meet project requirements.
• Provide technical support and training to end users.
• Support design reviews and functionality checks across engineering teams.
• Complete project documentation and service reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain compliance with company and customer safety requirements.

• 5-10 years of Controls Engineering experience.
• Strong background in custom automation or discrete automation environments.
• Proven PLC and HMI programming experience.
• Beckhoff PLC/PAC experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting projects from design through commissioning.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work onsite and support demanding project schedules.

Engineers without Beckhoff experience may still be considered if they possess:

• Strong Rockwell PLC experience.
• Experience with Structured Text programming.
• Experience with C# programming.
• Interest in learning and working with Beckhoff platforms.

• Beckhoff HMI development.
• Cognex In‑Sight vision systems.
• Robot vision guidance systems.
• Robotic automation integration.
• Servo systems and VFD applications.
• Industrial communications networks including Device Net, Ether Net and Profibus.
• Electrical panel design, pneumatics and hydraulic systems.

Successful candidates will support installation and commissioning activities in Baja, Mexico.

Applicants should be comfortable with:

• Extended onsite commissioning assignments.
• Working increased hours during commissioning phases.
• Customer‑facing technical support responsibilities.

A valid U.S. passport will be required for project travel.
