Responsibilities
The Corporate Tax Analyst’s primary responsibilities include assisting with federal and state direct tax compliance processes and with interim and annual income tax provision processes under ASC
740. Responsibilities can also include execution of projects designed to support corporate objectives, including cash tax optimization and earnings targets, tax research, financial income tax reporting activities, tax audit defense activities, assisting in the preparation of the tax footnote, and other compliance or ASC
740 requirements. The development of effective working relationships with management, as well as finance and other operating personnel, is required.
- Support key enterprise objectives: cash tax and earnings optimization
- Assist with tax compliance preparation processes
- Assist with tax accounting provision process under ASC
740 in accordance with a COSO Framework or Sarbanes‑Oxley 404 on a quarterly basis, including reporting of income tax contingencies (FIN
48), return‑to‑provision true‑up reviews, and supporting the Company’s annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors - Assist with tax audits (respond to inquiries, etc.)
- Research tax laws and track, analyze, and communicate proposed tax law changes
- Assist with tax due diligence on potential acquisitions
- Provide tax support to corporate functions and business units
- Responsible for information reporting (1042, W‑9/W‑8, etc.)
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to the Senior Tax Analyst
- Experience: 2+ years in a corporate tax environment, which may be in industry, Big 4, or similar
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or other business‑related program
- Skills/Attributes:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Self‑starter with effective problem‑solving skills
- Works independently with limited guidance
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and interpersonal skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to receive and implement feedback
- General understanding of ASC
740 concepts - General understanding of federal and state tax return requirements
- Familiar with SAP
- Familiar with One Source Tax Provision
- Familiar with Corp Tax
