We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis in Kingsport, TN. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality occupational therapy services to patients, helping them develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients, including therapeutic activities and exercises.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on therapy goals, techniques, and home programs.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintain professional licensure and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Tennessee.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Previous experience in occupational therapy preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis (PRN).
This position is based in Kingsport, TN, and may involve working in various healthcare settings including outpatient clinics, rehabilitation centers, or patients’ homes. The role requires physical stamina to assist patients and perform therapy activities.
