Job Summary And QualificationsThe Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, and identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurses plan individualized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach, participate in performance improvement activities, and coordinate care that supports the hospital's mission and vision.
In the charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day‑to‑day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, make staff assignments based on patient need and acuity, serve as clinical role models and resources, and respond promptly to requests for information or follow‑up with physicians, staff, or patients.
- Assess plans and evaluate patients' care needs and carry out physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team.
- Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
- At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Tri Star Hendersonville Medical Center is a 150‑bed hospital that has provided high‑quality health care for over 40 years. The facility is the first Accredited Chest Pain Center in Sumner County and a Certified Primary Stroke Center.
