Athletic Facility Supervisor 1 & Athletic Facility Supervisor 2 perform supervision of assigned facilities including but not limited to: opening/closing facilities, monitoring/controlling participants and spectators, maintaining program and facility equipment, and facility cleanliness. These positions work under the supervision of Kingsport Parks & Recreation Program Coordinators, Program Administrators, & Program Leaders.
Responsibilities for Athletic Facility Supervisor 1 & Athletic Supervisor 2:- Responsible for opening and closing the facilities.
- Responsible for setting up, breaking down, and storing any program equipment.
- Responsible for keeping inventory of program equipment and paperwork then communicating to KPR when supplies run low.
- Ensure that time sheets and score sheets are filled out completely and submitted to KPR at V.O. Dobbins Sr. Complex.
- Maintain participant and crowd control, while ensuring that all facility rules are being followed.
- Periodically checking parking lots, facility grounds, and playground areas for trash or potential maintenance issues.
- Ensure that the facility is clean and free of trash when opening and closing facilities including restrooms.
- Be at facility forty-five minutes to one hour before start of program/games. Must get approval from KPR if more time is needed to prepare the facility for games/programs.
- In the absence of KPR staff, determine if field conditions are playable for participants and cancel the program if necessary.
- Fill out accident/incident reports as needed.
- Supervise/train if needed KPR temporary staff such as facility attendants, score keepers, umpires, and referees.
- Supervise League programs of KPR (2-4 Baseball fields, 2 gymnasiums).
- Over league program guidelines, rules, and policies.
- Make program and facility decisions/changes related to weather conditions.
- Help Leisure Service Maintenance when needed.
- Perform any other duties as needed or assigned.
- Supervise multiple (5 or more) fields, facility areas, and programs simultaneously.
- Train, supervise Facility Supervisor 1, Athletic Supervisor 1, and facility helpers.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Knowledge of specified programs and equipment.
- Ability to work with the public in a respectful manner.
- Ability to self-motivate and make decisions based on evaluating a situation.
- Must be dependable and able to work nights and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for the majority of the required shift.
- Must be able to work outside for the entire scheduled shift.
