Role DescriptionThis is a full-time Equipment Operator role based on-site in Kingsport, TN. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of equipment, including heavy machinery, to support city transportation and maintenance operations. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine equipment inspections, ensuring proper functionality, completing assigned projects efficiently, and adhering to safety regulations and protocols. Additionally, the role may involve collaborating with team members to manage construction, repair, and maintenance projects effectively.
Qualifications- Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and related equipment safely and efficiently
- Basic mechanical skills for inspecting and maintaining equipment
- Familiarity with safety protocols, operational guidelines, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to work within a team environment and follow detailed instructions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in project execution
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL License is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in equipment operation is a plus
- Previous experience in equipment operation, construction, or maintenance work is highly desirable
