Position Summary
Responsible for the analysis and inventory of archived and inactive records held at the City Records Centre
Responsible for data entry into records database
Search and retrieve records upon request
Assist with the destruction of records in accordance with the City’s Records Retention By-law
Hours of operation are 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Qualifications, Competencies
MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME SECONDARY OR POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2026 – Verification will be required
Enrollment in records and information management, archival science, history, public administration, computer technology and/or library science is considered an asset
Experience with databases, data entry, and filing

Skills, Abilities, Work Demands
Ability to perform the essential duties of the job such as lifting, pushing and pulling
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
Judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential information
Ability to follow instructions and perform assigned duties with limited direct supervision
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check at candidate’s own expense
