In the position you will take on a wider range of construction responsibilities, guide junior team members, and help ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CARPENTERAs a Carpenter, every day brings new challenges and the chance to create something lasting. You'll be hands‑on from start to finish as you frame walls, hang doors, install flooring, and add finishing touches that transform a job site into a completed space.
You will read plans carefully, measure with precision, and make sure every detail meets quality and safety standards. You'll share your knowledge with other crew members, keeping the team aligned and projects running smoothly. Whether you're solving on‑site challenges, teaching a new technique, or completing the final trim on a freshly restored room, your craftsmanship and pride in your work will make every project a success.
Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, carpentry, or restoration
- Enrolled in or completion of a carpenter apprenticeship program, an asset
- Proven ability to read blueprints and apply construction math for accurate measurements and material planning
- Skilled in drywall, framing, finishing, and installation of doors, trim, and cabinetry
- Proficient in operating hand and power tools and maintaining a clean, safe job site
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to mentor others
- Proficient in using mobile devices and Microsoft Office applications
- Valid full class driver's license and clear driver's abstract depending
- Fit test and other safety certifications
- Must be able to work overtime, on weekends and participate in rotating on-call schedule
- Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and the use of personal protective equipment including respirators, safety footwear, and other required gear
- Salary Range: $25–$27/hour
