Pedestrian Bridge Attendant

Tomlinson Infrastructure is currently seeking a Pedestrian Bridge Attendant. This posting is for a season position to operate a movable pedestrian walk at the Brass Point National Historic Site on the Rideau Canal located at 550 Burnt Hills Road, Near Seeley’s Bay, ON.

This position is for weekend work (Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays) during the regular navigation season. This position will start in June 2026 and end in October 2026 after Navigation closes for the season.

• Operate a movable pedestrian bridge
• Communicate with the public to accommodate pedestrian and marine traffic across the pedestrian bridge as well as Parks Canada Staff
• Open and close the movable pedestrian bridge to allow boats to pass during navigation hours
• Working outdoors
• Direct marine traffic and pedestrian traffic
• Communicate with Project Manager and Superintendent

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient and professional in oral communication
• Sound judgement, reliable and organized
• Willing to work in a team environment utilizing effective interpersonal skills with various levels within the organization and external stakeholders

• Working outdoors, exposure to construction site work environment in all seasons and weather conditions
• Weekends and holidays (9am to 6:30pm)
• Must have the physical ability to use stairs, ladders and walk over rough terrain
