Basic Function and Scope:

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent is responsible for repairing, replacing and testing electrical circuits, equipment and appliances, using hand tools and testing instruments on a daily basis to supply electrical power for lighting and equipment operation in the off-site locations.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday – days with On-Call Rotation Schedule (with flexibility to meet the needs of the hospital)

Pay Rate:

$33.80-$34.56

• Education
• Four-Year Electrician’s apprenticeship of equivalent on-the-job training, with knowledge of electrical sections of public building and safety codes;
• Fully licensed Electrician.
• Experience
• Experience with industrial control systems;
• Experience with construction and/or renovation projects.
• Required Skills
• Ability to handle a variety of changing duties resulting from the complexities of electrical apparatus and equipment;
• Experience with computer drafting desirable;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully;
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education;
• Ability to function in a crisis situation;
• Ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to organize work assignments, deal with frequent interruptions, meet deadlines and work independently;
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
• Must have annual review education completed;
• Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
