Compensation is directly related to experience and potential fit. The lower end of the range is for a less experienced apprentice versus higher end for more experienced technician that can jump in quickly and operate with little direction.
Position OverviewInstallation, Troubleshooting and maintenance of both Commercial and Residential irrigation systems to ensure irrigation system is properly maintained and operating at peak efficiency.
Responsibilities- Install irrigation timers, smart controllers.
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation pipe and fittings, sprinkler heads.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components and central irrigation controller.
- Perform general and seasonal system maintenance.
- System start‑ups, evaluation and winterization.
- Perform backflow repairs; test irrigation systems for proper functioning of valves, heads, and timers.
- Complete daily forms and notes in the Jobber app as required for each job.
- Locate, excavate and repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Responsible for keeping accurate inventory.
- Keep work vehicles and equipment clean and organized.
- Think critically to solve problems and complete repairs.
- Effectively assess water efficiency and make adjustments to correct over or under watering.
- Perform accurate and timely record keeping.
- Perform other activities as may be temporarily or permanently assigned.
- Positive work attitude and customer service skills.
The Irrigation Technician may work directly with another Lead Irrigation Technician. The technician will also work closely with the Owner, Office Manager, Fertilizer Technician, and Lead Install Technician to better serve our clients.

- 1+ years professional experience working with irrigation system installation, maintenance and repair (willing to train the right candidates).
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from one of our starting locations (Hingham/Cohasset or Kingston).
- Extensive knowledge of irrigation system installation, maintenance and repairs preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy weight and excavate/backfill necessary holes and trenches in a safe manner.
- Ability to interact professionally with all customers, employees and those from external organizations.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision is a plus.
This position requires physical abilities such as strength, manual dexterity, and must be able to perform all required functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the Irrigation Technician is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, crouch, reach, stoop or kneel. The position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including hot and cold conditions.
