Process Engineering Intern

SFS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineering Intern who is currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. This internship is ideal for a student who has an interest in manufacturing operations, business process improvement, and leveraging technology to improve efficiency.

Principal duties include:

  • Analyze manufacturing and business processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and process documentation.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements to eliminate waste and streamline operations.
  • Support project management activities by tracking milestones, documenting action items, and communicating project status.
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Support process transfer projects, including documenting current and future state processes, coordinating project activities, and tracking implantation progress.
  • Participate in time studies, workflow analysis, and process mapping.
  • Help troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support quality improvement and waste reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve projects.
  • Utilize AI tools and other emerging technologies to create, edit, and enhance videos, presentations, documentation, and training content.
  • Assist in identifying automation opportunities to improve business and manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline. Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
