Commercial Carpenter
The Commercial Carpenter will perform a wide range of commercial carpentry tasks on active job sites, including framing, metal stud work, drywall, and hardware installation. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, work safely and efficiently with hand and power tools, and contribute to concrete and structural construction. The position is best suited for a dependable, safety-conscious carpenter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented commercial construction environment.
Responsibilities- Perform commercial carpentry tasks such as framing, metal stud work, drywall installation, finish carpentry, trim work, and exterior trim.
- Assist with concrete work and structural builds on active commercial job sites.
- Install doors, commercial doors, and related hardware accurately and securely.
- Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and project specifications to complete work to required standards.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines.
- Support job site operations by helping keep projects on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate closely with foremen and crew members to complete high-quality work and meet project deadlines.
- Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA safety practices, to maintain a safe and organized job site.
- Use basic computer skills for time tracking, communication, and simple documentation as required by the project.
- Travel to various commercial job sites within the service area and represent the company professionally.
- Experience in commercial carpentry, with strong residential carpentry experience also considered.
- Proficiency in framing using wood and/or metal studs.
- Working knowledge of concrete construction and structural builds.
- Hands-on experience with hardware installation, including commercial doors and related components.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, layouts, and project drawings.
- Skilled in the safe and efficient use of hand tools and power tools.
- Understanding and application of OSHA safety practices on construction sites.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
- Basic computer skills for time tracking, communication, and simple documentation.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for travel to job sites.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in commercial construction, including chip-in stud work and exterior trim, is highly beneficial.
- Experience with finish carpentry and trim work in commercial settings.
- Comfort working on multiple active job sites and adapting to varying project requirements.
- Ability to communicate clearly with foremen, crew members, and other trades on site.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel within approximately 60 miles of the central service area as needed for projects.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kingston, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
