Laurel Bluff Baptist Church was established in 1847 in a rural farm community 20 miles west of Knoxville, TN. Geographically located between Kingston, TN and Sweetwater, TN in the Midway community we are a thriving church in a well established and fast growing rural area. The church is 3 miles from the Midway Schools which includes separate facilities for elementary, middle and high school students.

Our typical Sunday services are attended by 100-125 members in a traditional style Southern Baptist church format. While not opposed to contemporary music our preferred style of music and worship is a more traditional worship service.

We Do Not agree or conform to the Reformed Baptist sector within the Southern Baptist Convention and Do Not adhere to the Reformed theological tradition, the doctrines of Calvinism or five points of Calvinism.

The members of Laurel Bluff are dedicated to the principles and doctrine of the Bible and follows the Southern Baptist doctrine which centers on the bible as its foundational authority, emphasizing personal faith in Jesus Christ as the sole path to salvation, and believer’s baptism by immersion. We believe in the supremacy of scripture, soul competency (the individual’s ability to understand the Bible), and the separation of church and state.

Our core beliefs include the Trinity, Jesus’ divinity and humanity, the sinfulness of humanity, and the importance of evangelism and missions.

As strong supporters of the children and youth in both our church and community we have a highly successful AWANA program and are active in church missions while focusing our outreach efforts in the local community and surrounding area.

Demographically the church is well represented across all age categories. We have a large number of young families with children as well as mid-life and senior adult members. We are blessed that our young parents are heavily involved in all aspects of the church from teaching Sunday School and AWANA classes to children’s music and church events.

Laurel Bluff is a stable and well functioning church without any issues or discontent within our congregation. This is a very joyful congregation with willing church workers across all age groups. The church is financially sound and seeking a new pastor to move forward with us to continue to spread the gospel, lead the lost to Christ and minister to the needs of the congregation and community.
